DC Social Goes to the Movies - Wraith of the Titans

WRATH OF THE TITANS
Wednesday, March 28
7:30 PM
Regal Majestic (IMAX 3D)
Silver Spring, MD

Sam Worthington, Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson star once again as gods at war in “Wrath of the Titans,” under the direction of Jonathan Liebesman.
A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus (Worthington)—the demigod son of Zeus (Neeson)—is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius.

Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans.  Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades (Fiennes) and Poseidon (Danny Huston).  The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’ godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramírez), switch loyalties and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus.  The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’ remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth.

Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon’s demigod son, Agenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

Register for Arlington Flag Football Leagues this Spring

DSC_0005

DC Social Flag Footballers,

We're excited to announce DC Social's flag football schedule for the upcoming spring season! Several locations and skill levels of play will be offered all around Arlington county to suit you and your team's flag football needs. Please note, the skill level classification system for our various football leagues has changed for this upcoming spring season. The former "social" level flag football league (played at Virginia Highlands Park) will now be called"recreational"; the former "athletic" level flag football leagues (played at Woodlawn and Bluemont) will now be called "competitive"; and the former competitive level flag football league (played at Long Bridge Park) will now be called "advanced". This new reclassification system will help us in creating a uniform system of skill levels to be applied to all of DC Social's sports, not just flag football. You'll find that the quality of the games will remain the same as before, but will simply be labeled by a new term.

That being said, here are the flag football leagues being offered this spring:

Saturday
- 7v7 Co-Ed Recreational at Virginia Highlands Park (afternoons)
- 7v7 Co-Ed Competitive at Woodlawn High School Upper Field (afternoons)

Sunday

- 7v7 Co-Ed Recreational at Woodlawn High School Upper Field (afternoons)
- 7v7 Co-Ed Recreational at Bluemont Park (afternoons)
- 7v7 Co-Ed Competitive at Bluemont Park (afternoons)
- 8v8 Co-Ed Athletic at Long Bridge Park (evenings)
- 8v8 Men's Athletic at Long Bridge Park (evenings) **interest list only, subject to change to Monday nights based on availability and interest**

Games will start the weekend of April 14th, with games being played tentatively through June 2nd. In addition to our wide selection of leagues and skill levels, DC Social has been working hard to make this upcoming spring flag football season our best yet. In doing so, we've completely revamped and edited our rulebook to allow for more consistent, better flowing, and safer play for everyone. In addition, well-versed referees, better equipment, and lots of player feedback have all been incorporated into this upcoming spring season. More information about individual player and team fees (register as part of a team for the best bang for your buck), important season deadlines, and general details and can be found within each league registration page here:http://playaasl.com/leagues/flag-football

We hope to have you back playing flag football with us this spring, and are looking forward to any feedback about your team's involvement with DC Social Sports Club's spring flag football program. Do not hesitate to email me with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have.

See you on the gridiron!
